Mrs. Hutchins, the former Clara Smith, was born in the township of Loyal, June 1, 1869. She was of pioneer stock, her parents, both deceased, Oliver Smith and Roxie Jane Hills Smith, being among the earliest settlers in Loyal township. She lived in this township until her marriage to Warren Hutchins, April 21, 1897 when she went to their farm home in the township of Unity, where they resided, with the exception of a few years that they lived in Riplinger, until they moved into the city of Loyal in 1944.

Mrs. Hutchins is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Otto (Elma) Hamann, Loyal, and Mrs. Gordon (Leah) Phillips, Marshfield, also by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hutchins has been in ill health for a number of years and since November has been a patient at the convalescent home in Arpin.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Robert Trobaugh of Marshfield officiated. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery. J. R. Colby sang "The Home Over There" and "Rock of Ages". Mrs. Byron Zepplin was organist.

Nephews served as pallbearers. They were Archie Smith, Floyd Smith, James Roder, Clair Lyons, Oswald Henninger, and Delbert Hutchins.

Those from away who attended the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Smith, Miss Beatrice Brett, and Clarence Brett, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dietsche, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brett, Mrs. Arthur Phillips, and Mrs. William Blesner, Spencer; Mrs. Lester Schuette and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Molle, Unity; and Elwin Hamann, Milwaukee.
