Wolfe, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin (Silver - 1954)

A 7 p.m. dinner was served Saturday, December 4, at Unity Lutheran Church in celebration of the Silver Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wolfe.

Twenty-five years ago Margaret Degen and Alvin Wolfe were married at the Lutheran Church here by the Rev. Leschensky. Their attendants were Doris Degen Collier and Paul Wolfe. For a short-time they made their home with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wolfe on what is now the Milton Wolfe farm. Since then they lived on the farm that is their present home.  They have six children, Verlyn, Mrs. Edward (Ardith) Domine, Jr., Richard, Tommy, Ronald, and Robert.

The anniversary dinner was prepared by Mrs. Walter Pieper, Mrs. Romaine Rossow, Mrs. Ed Dobbe and Mrs. Herman Litka. Waitresses were Mrs. James Helm, Mrs. Allen Luber, Mrs. Arnold Pieper, and Mrs. Delmar Pieper.

The white, heart shaped wedding cake, surrounded by six small heart shaped cakes, all beautifully decorated with white rosebuds and silver leaves, was baked by Mrs. Stanley Stevens.  The six small cakes were to honor the six children of Mr. and Mrs. Wolfe.

Two musical selections were given by Marlene and Joyce Pieper in honor of the celebration.  Many lovely gifts and money gifts were received by the honored couple.

Guests from away were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Paddon and daughter Sharon, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Domine, Jr., Paul Wolfe and sons Terry and Roger, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Collier, Marshfield; Mrs. Margaret Foelsch and daughter Marjorie, Spencer; and Miss Ardus Schoelzel, Colby.

Local guests were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wolfe, son Dale and daughter Marilyn, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Wolfe, son Gary and daughter Pamela, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hills, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Pieper and daughters, Marlene, Joyce, and Karen, Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Pieper, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Luber, daughter Barbara and son Keith, Mr. and Mrs. James Helm , Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Stevens and daughter Kathleen, and the Rev. and Mrs. E. E. Aalto and children, Mrs. Mathilda Otto, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schoettler, and Mr. and Mrs. August Witt.

Later in the evening an anniversary dance was given at Welch’s Hall in Riplinger, attended by relatives and friends.
