Hanson, Elizabeth #2 (12 AUG 1893 - 24 MAR 1961)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Peter Hanson, 67, who died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, early Friday morning, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the First Presbyterian Church at Abbotsford with the Rev. L. F. Faivre officiating.  Mrs. Faivre was the organist and Miss Joan Pautz and Mrs. Myron Greaser sang "In the Garden" and Rock of Ages."

 

Pallbeaers for the interment made in the Abbotsford Cemetery, were Dan Brink, Ed Leichtnam, Martin Larson, Louie Mauritz, Clarence Nelson and Glen Resech.

 

Mrs. Hanson, the former Elizabeth Redwine was born in Greenwood Aug. 12, 1893.  She was educated in area schools and was married to Peter Hanson at Owen March 21, 1914.  The couple farmed near Abbotsford and after their retirement in 1951? moved to the village.

 

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Women’s Association and the Abbotsford Women’s Club.  Surviving here are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Dorothy) Westendorf, Withee, and Mrs. Cletus (Anna Marie) Schraufnagel, Colby; and one son, John, of Westboro.  There are 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

She also leaves one brother, Don Redwine, Ladysmith, and six sisters, Mrs. Pearl Fox, Mrs. Scota? Rasmussen and Mrs. Beulah Barfknecht, Ladysmith, Mrs. Norma Stropp, Wenatchee, Wash., Mrs. Winifred Garrett, San Bernadino, Calif., and Mrs. Audrey Pickelmon, Lwarence, Kansas.

 

Relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral came from Greenwood, Ladysmith, Westboro, Medford, Owen, Withee, Curtiss, Colby, Rib Lake, Neillsville, Morrison, Ill. and Lawrence, Kan.
