Mr. and Mrs. Charley Brown greeted friends and relatives at open house at their home on New Year’s Day in celebration of their 55th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Brown, who wore navy blue at her wedding, chose a navy blue dress for this anniversary celebration.  With it she wore a corsage of pink carnations.

The table decorations consisted of a large bell cake, made by her niece, Mrs. Marion Tuxhorn, and an anniversary cake and two vases of flowers, the latter a gift from their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Gaetz.

The honored couple received many gifts and a purse of money.

Mr. and Mrs. Brown have two children, Richard, at home, and Mrs. William (Myrtle) Gaetz.  They have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Brown has two brothers: Ward, at Menomonee, Mich.; and George, at Wausau.

Mrs. Brown has two brothers: Roy Moore of Port Edwards; and Obed Moore of Black Creek, Wis.; and three sisters: Mrs. Joel (Lizzie) Hart, Stevens Point; Mrs. Ward (Pearl) Brown, Menominee, Mich.; and Mrs. Charles (Beatrice) Hebert, Yakima, Wash.
