Gardner, Floyd L. (28 JUN 1889 - 29 JAN 1952)

 

A funeral service was performed at 2 p.m. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church for Floyd Lyman Gardner.  Mr. Gardner succumbed last Tuesday to a heart attack at the age of 62.

 

The Rev. E. E. Aalto held the services for the departed, with Mrs. Romaine Rossow providing the hymns of remembrance, "In the Garden," "Under His Wings," and "The Old Rugged Cross.:  Miss Jean Nysted accompanied at the organ.

 

Serving as pallbearers were Horace Vanderburg, Joe Pachal, Archie Smith, Fred Cox Sr., William Tucker, and Robert Kollmansberger.  Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

 

Mr. Gardner was born June 28, 1889 in the Town of York (Clark Co., Wis.)  At the age of 19 he moved with his parents to Loyal.  His entire life was spent in the area of the Towns of Loyal and Beaver.  He was educated in the Town of Loyal.  He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Sunny Knoll School Board, and the Loyal Cemetery Board.

 

His marriage to the former Margaret Zuege took place Nov. 20, 1919 in the Town of Loyal.

 

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Donald Sommers, Curtiss, Mrs. Harold Kollmansberger, Loyal, and Mrs. Elmer Gotter, Loyal; two sons, Harold, Loyal, and Vern of Greenwood; eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Fred Heiking, Loyal, and his mother, Mrs. Linda Gardner of Loyal.

 

Out of town people attending the funeral were Mrs. Bernard Zuege and Bernie Hall of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Detjem and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Dayton of Merrill, Mrs. Al Walsh, Fond du Lac, and Mr. and Mrs. William Zuege and Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Zuege of Stevens Point.  There were also many relatives from Loyal and vicinity.
