Kleinschmidt, Jean Ann (22 DEC 1951)

In a candlelight ceremony performed in St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church at 4:30 Dec. 22, 1951, Jean Ann Kleinschmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Kleinschmidt of Merrill, became the bride of Pvt. Jerome J. Catlin, son of Mrs. Ann Catlin of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.).  The Rev. Mr. Vogelmann was the officiating clergyman.

A white satin ballerina length frock was selected by the bride for her wedding.  She carried a bouquet of red roses and white mums on a white prayer book.

(Unreadable name), Merrill, as maid of honor, wore a powder blue taffeta street length dress and she carried a bouquet of white pompons.

Jeanette Nicklaus, the bride’s cousin, and Shirley Neubauer wore gowns of aqua and pink taffeta, respectively.  Each carried a bouquet of pompons.

Herb Lau, S 1/c, Merrill, was best man, and Cpl. Carrol Catlin, Loyal, the groom’s brother, and Harvey Kloss, Merrill, served as groomsmen.

Dick Catlin, Loyal, another brother of the groom, and Gordon Cocy, Merrill, ushered.

A buffet luncheon was served after the ceremony in the church parlors and a reception was held in the Martin Hinz Hall at eight o’clock.

The bride, a graduate of Merrill High School, is employed in the office there.  The groom attended Loyal High School for two years and then enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served two years.  Since last October he has been in the Army Air Force and is now stationed at Chanute Field, Ill.
