Humbird, Wisconsin (22 September 1960)

 

Mrs. Park Sample went to Port Edwards Tuesday to spend a few days with her daughter, Mrs. Joe Rude, and her family.


Mr. and Mrs. Victor Schiebe drove to Altoona Friday to spend a few days with her sister, Mrs. Howard Lawrence.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Lund, Jr. and family and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clark of Lairdsville, Pa., were called here last Monday by the death of Mrs. Mahlon Lund, Sr.  They returned home Thursday.

 

Mrs. Sam Newton accompanied Mrs. Thane Joos of Alma Center of Eau Claire Thursday to help their daughter and sister, Mrs. Archie Nelson, celebrate her birthday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice attended a family gathering in the Jake Lightfoot home Sunday in honor of the 79th birthday of Mr. Lightfoot’s mother, Mrs. Effie Brownell.  She is quite well and happy in spite of being nearly blind.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heiple of Green Lake spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. John Greub.  Mrs. Heiple is the former Emma Baumgartner and a cousin of Mrs. Greub.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Duerkop of Fairchild were supper guests Sunday of Rev. and Mrs. Carl Serr.

 

Dale Austin of Beloit was here during the weekend and called on the Gil Blums at Price.

 

Miss Shirley Morgan, Minneapolis, is spending a two-week vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Morgan.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Duerkop and family were dinner guests Sunday of her mother, Mrs. Ida Holman, in Osseo.  Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Armand Fisher and family, Pleasantville; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Duerkop, Dodgeville, and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Duerkop and family of Fairchild.

 

Callers at the Sam Newton home Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. Leon Wright and Louis Hobbs of Eau Claire, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Gerber.
