Weis, Gertrude (Marriage - 3 September 1960)

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal was the setting for the marriage of Gertrude Weis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reinie Weis of Rt. 2, Spencer, and Robert Jicinsky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jicinsky, Rt. 2 Stratford.

The Rev. Norbert King officiated at the 10 a.m. nuptial ceremony, Saturday.  She was presented for marriage by her father.

Tiers of Chantilly lace over satin fashioned the wedding dress.  Her fingertip veil was attached to a tiara of pearls and her flowers were red and white roses.

Joan Jicinsky, sister of the groom, was maid of honor.  She wore a pink street-length formal of organza and carried pink and white carnations.

Lois Jicinsky, also a sister of the groom, Mary Jane Weis, sister-in-law of the bride, and Andrea Wehe, were bridesmaids.  They wore street-length gowns of blue.

The groom’s attendants were James C. Miller, uncle of the bride, as bestman; and Gene Biddle, Sylvester, Weis, brother of the bride, and Gary Ertl, cousin of the groom.  Ushers were Charles Weis, brother of the bride, and James Jicinsky, brother of the groom.  Rose Marie Johnson, niece of the bride, was flower girl, and Larry Jicinsky, nephew of the groom was ringbearer.

Dinner was served at the church hall and supper and a reception were held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride received her education in the schools at Loyal.  The groom, who is employed on the farm of his parents, was educated at Stratford.

Their honeymoon was spent in Oklahoma.
