Grottke, Wanda Grace (Marriage - 20 August 1960)

 

Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday in the Christ Lutheran Church in Chili by Wanda Grace Grottke and Bernard N. Garbisch.  The parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grottke of Chili and Mr. and Mrs. Bernhard Garbisch of Granton.  The Rev. L. E. Schreiber performed the double ring ceremony.

 

The bride approached the flower decorated altar on the arm of her father. She wore a ballerina length gown of silk organza with embroidered roses, and carried a bouquet of red roses.

 

The maid of honor was Miss Ruth Garbisch, and bridesmaid was Miss Laura Grottke.

 

Bestman was Henry Grottke. Louis Grottke and Milton Garbisch of Granton were the ushers.

 

Miss Carol Peterson of Neillsville sang, "The Lord is My Shepherd," and The Lord’s Prayer".

 

A reception was held in the Zion Lutheran parish hall at Granton for about 175 guests.  The hall was decorated with baskets of assorted summer flowers.

 

The couple will honeymoon in Alaska, after which they will make their home in Moose Pass, Alaska.

 

The bride is a graduate of Wisconsin State College and is a primary teacher at Moose Pass. The groom is a graduate of the Loyal High School.

 

Out of town guests were from Neillsville, Milwaukee, Humbird, Sauk City, Rhinelander, Alma Center, Wausau, Janesville, Melrose, Marshfield, Burlington, Racine; Monroe Center, Chicago, Cherry Valley, and Woodstock, Ill.; and Rockham, S. D.
