Baskets of garden flowers, ferns, a lattice fence, and tapers decorated the cancel of the Loyal Methodist church on Saturday, Aug, 13, for the setting of the marriage of Miss LaVonne Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Smith and Walter Joyce, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Joyce of Greenwood. The Rev. Lee Holmes officiated at the 3 p.m. candlelight service. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

 

White silk marquisette over satin was worn by the bride. A bertha collar edged with chantilly lace and short lace sleeves styled the bodice. Side panels of chantilly lace and ruffles from the waistline were features of the full skirt en train.

 

White silk marquisette gloves and a fingertip veil of silk illusion completed her bridal attire. The veil was edged with chantilly lace and held in place with a tiara of miniature seed pearls and bugle beads. She carried a heart-shaped bouquet of yellow roses, orchids and stephanotis.

 

Her jewelry was a necklace of two strands of pearls, a gift of the groom. For something old she wore a lace trimmed petticoat which was worn (rest of article not available)
