Smith Carol R. #2 (1 JUN 1957)

In a 1 p.m. ceremony Saturday in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Lublin, Miss Carol Ruth Smith became the bride of Frank L. Pawlukiewicz Jr., son of the senior Mr. and Mrs. Pawlukiewicz of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).  The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Elden Smith of Unity.

Officiant for the ceremony was the Rev. Eugene Knopka.

The bride selected a floor length gown of embroidered nylon tulle over taffeta for the occasion.  The fitted bodice had a Sabrina neckline and long sleeves which tapered to points over the wrist, while net fashioned an overskirt for her bouffant ruffled skirt.  Her imported illusion fingertip veil cascaded from a tiara with side clips, trimmed with seed pearls and iridescent sequins.

Her bouquet was a spray of roses.

Chief attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Marion Pawlukiewicz of Chicago, brother and sister-in-law of the bridegroom, and daughter Maria appeared as flower girl.

Also attending the bride were her sisters, Misses June and Sharon Smith, Unity, and Miss Mary Jane Stumpner of Janesville, while the other male attendants were Richard Grajek, Lublin; Eugene Peitzen, Plymouth, Mich., and Arnold Hamm of Curtiss, the bridegroom’s cousin.

Paul Hutman of Withee completed the bridal party in the role of ring bearer.

Light pink net over taffeta was worn by the bride’s attendants.  Their similarly styled frocks were floor length, with lace boleros over the strapless bodices.  Net Tiers fashioned the skirts.

Each carried a bouquet of pink roses and white carnations.

White net over taffeta was worn by the flower girl, who carried white sweet peas to a basket of the same color.

After the ceremony, supper was served in the Owen Legion Hall.  Guests were present at both events came from Chicago, Milwaukee, Fond du Lac, Owen, Curtiss, Marshfield, Withee, Thorp, Stanley, Boyd, Lublin, Unity, Dorchester, Gilman, and Plymouth, Mich.

Educated in the Unity and Colby grad and high schools, the bride has been employed in Marshfield at the Roddis Plywood Corp.  Mr. Pawlukiewicz received his education at Redville School and Owen High School and has been employed at the E. J. Crane Feed Store in Owen.

The plan to reside at the Pawlukiewicz farm at Owen on their return from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Canada.
