Kollack, Raymond P. (19 May 1926 - 6 November 2010) With Flag

 

Raymond P. Kollack (Kolaczkowski), age 84, of Holcombe, WI, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls, WI.

 

Services were held on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church, with Rev. Keith Apfelbeck officiating and burial was made in St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery, Thorp, WI.  Members of the American Legion Post #118 were in attendance and performed military rites.

 

Pallbearers were: Dennis Cukay, Donn Anderson, Lee Willis, David Rodriguez, Peter Rodriguez and Nathan Walker. 

 

Raymond was born on May 19, 1926, to Frank and Tecla (Lewan) Kolaczkowski in Chicago, IL.  He was one of two sons born to Frank and Tillie.  Shortly after his birth, their family moved to Thorp, WI.  Both brothers served in World War II.  Raymond enlisted in the U. S. Army, and had participated in the Battle of the Bulge and liberated prisoners of war from a Nazi Concentration Camp.  Louie, who was two years older, died during World War II.

 

After the war, Raymond met Harriet Sierocuk of Thorp, WI. They were married June 25, 1955.  They adopted two children: Marcia and Sara.  They owned Pine Drive Resort in Holcombe, WI, from 1956 to 1968.  Raymond also worked as a carpenter, worked for the DNR, and at the Cornell paper Mill.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Raymond was a member of the Cornell Catholic Church.

 

He is survived by his wife, Harriet Kollack of Holcombe, WI; two children: Marcia Schultz of Augusta, WI, and Sara Kollack-Walker (Daniel Walker) of Indianapolis, IN; and six grandchildren: David, Peter, Paige, Nathan, Brittney and Jacob.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Louie.
