Holtz, Doris (Marriage - 7 November 1959)

St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Miss Doris Holtz, daughter of Mrs. Walter Holtz of Neillsville, and the late Walter Holtz, and Eugene Fredrickson of Forest city, Ia.  The Rev. Norman Lindloff performed the double ring ceremony before an altar graced with baskets of white ‘mums. White bows and red flowers completed the church decorations.

For her wedding the bride chose a floor-length white Chantilly lace gown fashioned with a very full bouffant skirt. The fitted sequin studded bodice was complete with long, tapering sleeves and a high fitted neckline.  Her Chantilly lace fingertip veil cascaded from a crown head-piece of pearls and beads.  She carried a bridal bouquet of red carnations and stephanotis entwined with ivy.

Mrs. Henry Thoma attended her sister as matron of honor.  Bridesmaids were Mrs. Roger Grottke and Mrs. Andrew Johnson. The attendants were attired in red velveteen dresses and carried bouquets of white carnations.

Ordean Fredrickson was bestman. Groomsmen were Henry Thoma and Robert Ladd, and ushers were Roger Grottke and Andrew Johnson.

A wedding reception was held at the American Legion Hall attended by 165 guests.

Both the bride and groom are high school graduates. The bride is employed in a Neillsville bank and the groom is engaged in farming.

People from away here for the wedding were: Oscar Fredrickson, Shari and Sandra Fredrickson, all from Forest City, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meske and family, Marshfield; Mrs. Leo Brinkheimer and family, Marshfield.
