Gerald Allan "Potz" Pinter was born June 24, 1937, to John and Olivia (Decker) Pinter in the town of Holton, Marathon County.

Gerry attended Pickard Grade School and was a 1955 graduate of Abbotsford High School. He was united in marriage to Ruby Dietsche on Feb. 27, 1960, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester.

He took over the home farm in 1960, and he and Ruby farmed until 2005, when they sold the farm and moved to Dorchester. He was a member of the National Guard, 32nd Division, from 1954 - 1962. He served in active duty at Fort Lewis, Wash., during the Berlin Crisis, from October 1961 to August 1962. He was a supervisor on the Holton Town Board from 1975-76.

He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Abbotsford.

Potz loved the country, the farm, going to auctions, and visiting friends at "Cliffs." The most important thing to him was his family, which he loved dearly, and spending time with his nine wonderful grandchildren.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Ruby, and four children. They are Pamela (Dave) Peloquin, Eau Claire, Michael (Camille) Pinter, Rogers, Minn., Kristine (Jim Jr.) Schwalbach and Teresa (Rick) Cherney, Marshfield.
