Slater, Marina A. (6 OCT 1956)

The wedding took place at the Roman Catholic Church, Newmarket, England, on Saturday, of Miss Marina Annie Slater, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Slater, of 43 Newton Terrace, Newmarket, and A/2c Byron Bogumill, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Bogumill of Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., U.S.A.

Father M.J. Kennedy conducted the service with Mr. H. Peachey at the organ.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white lace over white brocade, with sweetheart neckline, and a pearl and rhinestone headdress holding a short veil.  She carried pink and white carnations.

Attending her were Miss Margaret Vowden, friend, and Miss Judith Jarvis, niece, wearing lilac net over lilac brocade, with headdresses of feathers and silver crosses and chains, the bridegroom’s gifts.  They carried posies of mixed flowers.

The best man was A/2c Charles E. Fetzer, friend of the bridegroom.

As the couple left the church the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by her niece and a wooden spoon by her nephew.

After a reception at the Marquis of Granby, Newmarket, the bride and bridegroom left for a holiday in London, the bride wearing a grey suit with black accessories.
