Bey, Emma (15 August 1894 - 8 October 1959)

Funeral services were conducted Saturday for Mrs. William (Emma) Bey, 65, Marshfield, who died Thursday at her home.  The Rev. Charles Leisle officiated at services from St. John’s Catholic Church, and burial was made in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Bey, the former, Emma Holtz, was born August 15, 1894, at Washburn daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Holtz, and was a young girl when her parents moved to Neillsville, where she received her education.  She was married June 17, 1915, to William Bey, at Athens, where they resided for five years.

Since that time the Beys had made Marshfield their home, and operated a tavern for the last 25 years.  Mr. Bey died February 6.

Mrs. Bey is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Melvin (Lucille) Schmoll, Kathleen and Ruth Bey, all of Marshfield; a son, LeRoy, of Marshfield; and nine grandchildren.  She is also survived by four sisters: Mrs. H. G. Bickel, Milwaukee; Mrs. LeRoy Allen, Neillsville; Mrs. Elmer Hartnagel, Cochrane; and Mrs. Leo Brickheimer, Marshfield.

Among those from Neillsville attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Allen, Mrs. Henry Thoma, Miss Doris Holtz and Herman Moen.
