Pleasant Ridge (17 September 1959)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Roland Rucker of Iowa are the new owners of the Clifford Swann farm.  Mr. and Mrs. Rucker are the parents of a son who attends first grade in the Neillsville Schools.

 

Mrs. Clarion Counsell will be hostess tonight (Thursday) to the Pleasant Ridge Homemakers club.

 

Miss Shirley Magnuson of Minneapolis spent several days last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Magnuson.  The vacation was due to a breakdown in machinery where she is employed.

 

Oscar Hantke, who was here for the Hantke family reunion, has returned to Ironwood, Mich.

 

Mrs. Minnie Krueger, who visited relatives here, has returned to Milwaukee.  Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Short took her to Merrillan to board a train.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hubing spent Tuesday in Black River Falls with their daughter, Mrs. Larry Babka, and helped her observe her birthday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Silkey of Marshfield spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Drescher, and Sunday visited her sister, Mrs. Arvid Watenpuhl and family.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Drescher and their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Silkey of Marshfield, visited Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lautenbach in Granton.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Bills of Madison arrived Tuesday for a few days’ visit with their daughter, Mrs. Vernon Drescher and her family.  On the return to Madison they will take the remainder of their household goods.

 

Walter Miller is assisting Arnold Drescher with corn cutting and silo filling.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Meyer of Elk Mound were Sunday guests at the Daniel Drescher home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Neff, Sr., of Neillsville were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarion Counsell.

 

Mrs. Ted Selves and Robert Blackman were entertained Friday at a birthday party for Mr. Blackman at the Clifford Blackman home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Short and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Blackman visited Thursday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Clarion Counsell.
