Krainz, Helen (20 FEB 1919-06 OCT 2010)

 

Helen O. Krainz, 91, Willard, died on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Saturday. Oct. 9, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burila was in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Harbort, James Harbort, Duane Krainz, Justin Zwieg, Brandon Zwieg, Darwin Zwieg and Allan Harbort.

 

HELEN Olga Horvat was born on Feb. 20, 1919, in Willard, the daughter of John and Johanna (nee Godec) Horvat. She was raised and received her education in the Willard area, and completed her GED at the age of 71. She married Valentine F. Krainz on Jan. 21, 1942, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. She  was a homemaker and farm wife, working along side her husband on the farm. In addition to farm life, she also babysat her grandchildren, cleaned the church in Willard and worked at the Loyal Cannery for a few summers. She was a member of the Holy Family catholic Church and its CCW, KSKJ Lodge, the Willard Historical Society, Clark County Merry Homemakers for 50 years, N.A.R.F,m the Rock Dam Rod and Gun Club, and was a 4-H sewing leader. She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family and friends (to whom she was very devoted), crocheting, sewing, music, fishing, gardening, house plants, bingo and playing cards.

 

She will be dearly missed by her children, Donna (Allan) Harbort, Broolfield, Robert (Mary Ann) Krainz, Willard, Larry (Cheryl) Krainz, Marshfield, and Ruth (Darwin) Zwieg; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and many friends.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Val, on Nov. 19, 2006, one son, Valentine F. Krainz, Jr.; and six siblings, Mary Klune, John Horvat, Joe Horvat, Jenny Tolaney, Louis Horvat and Rudy Horvat.
