Stanzel, Kaye (Marriage - 27 June 1959)

Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday by Miss Kaye Stanzel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Stanzel, of Manitowoc, and Gary L. Mills, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Mills, Rt. 3, Neillsville. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. C. Fischer of Archbold, O., in the First Reformed Church.  Candelabra were the only altar decorations.

The bride, given in marriage by her father was attired in a floor-length dress of silk organza over taffeta. The very full bouffant skirt was designed with six lace panels, stuffed with sequins. The fitted bodice was fashioned with three-quarter length sleeves and a caplet collar, edged in lace, seed pearls and sequins.  A large bow tied at the back of the waistline.  Her fingertip veil of hand rolled silk illusion lace was attached to a Queen’s crown of organza.  Her bridal bouquet consisted of a white orchid surrounded by gladioli and lilies of the valley, entwined with ivy.

Miss Patricia Shier, Manitowoc, was the maid of honor.  The Misses Charlene Wolf, Beaver Dam, Sally Mills, Neillsville, and Mary Cigler, Manitowoc, served as bridesmaids. All wore white nylon dotted Swiss dresses with matching accessories in blue and pink.  Each carried a full crescent bouquet of blue and white, and pink and white Pom-poms.

The groom was attended by Tom Witzel of Oshkosh as bestman.  Groomsmen were Merlin Gerber, Madison; Danny Stanzel, Manitowoc; and Allen Mills, Neillsville.  Ushers were Jerry Schoenherr, Joe Cigler and John Kreie.

Two hundred twenty-five guests attended a reception at the Cape Cod Inn in Manitowoc.

Mr. Mills was graduated June 8 from the University in Madison and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the army.  Mr. and Mrs. Mills left Wednesday for Ft. Riley, Kans., where he will be stationed a short time, and will then be transferred to Ft. Benning, Ga.  In January he expects to be sent to Germany.  Mrs. Mills has been attending the University for the last two years.
