Seelow, Betty Jane (Marriage - 20 June 1959)

St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Miss Betty Jane Seelow and Keith A. Durham.  The Rev. Norman Lindloff performed the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with baskets of greens and peonies.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Seelow of Neillsville, was given in marriage by her father. She wore a floor length gown of white Chantilly lace and tulle over satin. The fitted bodice was fashioned with long tapered sleeves and a Sabrina neckline edged with sequins.  Her lace finger tip veil cascaded from a pearl and sequin studded crown head piece.  She carried a cascade bouquet made with a white orchid surrounded by baby red roses.

Miss Carol Foemmel was her friend’s maid of honor.  Bridesmaids were Miss Sylvia Hagen and Miss Ardis Henning, both cousins.  The attendants were attired in blue dresses with matching head pieces and carried fan-shaped bouquets of yellow feather carnations.

Donald Brink, Medford, attended the groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Durham of Neillsville, as best man. Groomsmen were Robert Oberholtzer and Glenn Kutcher, brothers-in-law of the bride and groom.

Kirk Oberholtzer, nephew of the bride, was the ringbearer, and Luann Stienke was the flower girl.

"The Wedding Prayer" and "the Lord’s Prayer" were sung by Robert Mitte, accompanied by Victor Lehman.

Approximately 175 guests attended the reception in the Legion Hall.

The bride is attending Neillsville High School.  Mr. Durham is a graduate of the Neillsville High School and at present is serving in the U. S. Navy aboard the U. S. S. Corry in Norfolk, Va.  He will leave Monday to resume his naval duties.
