Milton, Rose C. (18 March 1891 - 28 May 1959)

 

Mrs. Rose C. Milton, 68, of Neillsville, died following a heart attack at her home at 4:45 p.m. May 28.  Funeral services were held Monday from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Norman Lindloff officiating.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.  The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.

 

Mrs. Milton, the former Rose Pollnow, was born March 18, 1891, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pollnow. She was educated in Pine Valley, and was married in Neillsville on March 1,1912.  She lived on a farm in Pine Valley until moving to Neillsville, in 1941.  She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

 

She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Sture (Lucille) Engstrom, Geneva, Ill.; Mrs. Henry (Virginia) Rahn, Neillsville; Mrs. Ed (Delores) Kasper, Itasca, Ill.; and Mrs. Charles (Gloria) Svetlik, Ann Arbor, Mich.  Two sisters, Mrs. Arnold (Ruth) Yankee, Neillsville, and Mrs. Susie Solie, Eau Claire, and three brothers: Fred, Ed, and Walter Pollnow, all of Neillsville, also survive as well as 11 grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by two sons, Lewis in 1944, and Raymond in 1957, and by three sisters, Emma, Mrs. Hans Johnson, Eau Claire, Alvina, Mrs. Peter Warlum and Ella Pollnow of Neillsville; and by two brothers.

 

Pallbearers were: Fritz Dux, Ed Allen, Gust Carl, Henry Wasserburger, Tony Hantke and Oscar Christopherson.  Mrs. Earl Zille, Mrs. Tony Hantke and Mrs. James West carried flowers.

 

Robert Mitte, accompanied by Mrs. Robert Schlicht, sang "Abide With Me" and "Asleep in Jesus".

 

Those coming from out of town included: Mr. and Mrs. Sture Engstrom, Geneva, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kasper and family, Itasca, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Svetlik and family, Ann Arbor, Mich.; Mrs. Susie Solie, Dewayne Solie, Verla Skanser, and Mrs. Ruth Lefstad, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Fritz, Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Switzenberg, Barron; Mr. and Mrs. James L. Rahn, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. kenneth Grabe Neenah; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Fradenburg, Humbird.
