Winter, Janet (Marriage - 30 May 1959)

Janet Winter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Winter of Granton, became the bride of LaVern Landwehr of Stratford at a double ring ceremony performed by the bride’s brother, the Rev. Edward Winter, at Zion Lutheran Church, Granton last Saturday.

The bride wore a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace and tulle, with short sleeves and a neckline trimmed in sequins.  She wore a headpiece of Tyana lace with a half-crown of seed pearls outlining her finger tip veil, and carried a cascade of stephanotis centered with a lavender orchid.

The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Mrs. Gordon Landwehr of Stratford.  Bridesmaids were Joyce Winter, sister, Shirley Landwehr of Stratford, and Carol Jean Garbisch of Granton.  The groom was attended by his brother, Gordon, as best man.  Attendants were Jarold Landwehr, Eugene Landwehr, both of Stratford, and Norman Wesenberg of Granton.  Ushers were Clarence Pannier of Springfield, Ill., and Robert Boses of Stratford.  Ringbearer was Kenneth Baucker of Colby, and flower girl was Judy Landwehr of Stratford.

Music was played by Mrs. Clarence Pannier, a sister of the bride.

A reception was held for approximately 180 guests at the home of the bride’s parents.

Following a wedding trip to the Black Hills and Yellowstone National Park, the newlyweds will be at home on Rt. 2, Stratford.

The bride is a graduate of Granton High School and has been employed in Marshfield.  The groom attended Stratford schools and is engaged in farming.
