Komis, Katherine (11 AUG 1951)

 

Miss Katherine Komis and Francis J. Hansen were united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 11, 1951, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, at ten o’clock in the morning at N. 26th and W. Brown St., Milwaukee.

 

She is the twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Komis of 1543 N. 32nd St., Milwaukee, former residents of Loyal and Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.).

 

The bride wore a white satin and lace dress.  The waist and sleeves were of lace, with a net yoke trimmed with pearls and beads.  The sleeves were long, coming to points over the hand.  The skirt was made of all satin with a long satin train.  A large lace panel hung from the waist in the front of the skirt, going around the waist to the back of the skirt with a peplum.  It buttoned down the back with tiny satin covered buttons.

 

She wore a short veil and carried a bridal cascade bouquet of white roses and carnations, and streamers.  She wore her cousin’s pearl necklace.

 

Anna Hansen acted as maid of honor.  Theresa Hansen and her twin sister, Mrs. Gerald Fischer, were bridesmaids.  They were all dressed in yellow.  The dresses were of full net skirts and ruffle around made of net over satin skirts.  Waists were of lace and fitted bodice, with headpieces of the net to match.  They all carried cascade bouquets of American Beauty roses.

 

Larry Hansen acted as best man.  James Sennitt and Duane Komis were also attendants.  They all wore formal suits, black trousers and light grey coats.

 

The wedding dinner and supper was served at the North Ave. Auditorium on the first floor on North 32nd St., and North Ave.  A reception and dance were held in the evening at the North Ave. Auditorium on the seond floor to about 275 people.  Pete Ach’s Orchestra furnished the music.

 

The out of town guests who attended were the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Ida Litka, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Litka and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Litka, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Foelske, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. John Wisneski and Norma, Mrs. Arvid Lindagrun and Mrs. Joe Ackerman, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bauer, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Bauer, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bauer, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hansen, Mrs. Joe Weber, and Mrs. Ralph Fischer, all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Wittig and family, Juneau, and Mr. and Mrs. Art Genenz and daughter, Evanston, Ill.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Hansen took a trip to Yellowstone Park, Black Hills, Wyoming and Minnesota.  They are residing on a farm at Colgate, Wis.
