Stumpers, John  Mr. and Mrs.  06 MAR 1949

 

Mr. and Mrs. John Stumpers celebrated their golden wedding Sunday afternoon, Mar. 6, at the Trinity Lutheran church parlors. They held open house from 2 to 4 o’clock. About 100 relatives and friends attended.

 

The Rev. J. C. Langholz conducted a short golden wedding service. Miss Eunice Langholz sang "Take Thou My Hand, Dear Father," accompanied by Mrs. Langholz at the piano. Miss Isabel Stumpers, a granddaughter, read a poem written for the occasion by the sister of the bride of 50 years ago.

 

Those present from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. William Knoll of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Anderson and family of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stumpers and daughters of Holcombe, Rex Pickett of Madison, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Warner and Mrs. Rex Pickett of Nekoosa, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Daum and family of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Knoll and children and John Knoll of Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cerney of Spencer.
