Weston Township (9 April 1959)

 

Globe Homemakers’ club will meet today (Thursday) at the home of Mrs. Louis Hagedorn starting at 1:30 p.m.  Lunch will be served following a program.  Mrs. Leo Henchen will present the project.

 

Mr. and Mrs. George Nielsen and family visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Anton Wirkuty in York.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Dux spent Sunday with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carlson, in Tomah.  Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marg of Milwaukee spent the weekend there also.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Pozega and children, and Mrs. Paul Seelow of Pine Valley visited Saturday with Michael Eslinger and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Seelow in Stratford.  They report Mr. Eslinger considerably improved in health following a long illness.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Orville Bertrang, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Bertrang and daughter, Rose Marie, and Mr. and Mrs. Randy Bertrang of Menomonie visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bertrang in Portage.

 

Miss JoAnn Grap of Milwaukee, and Ronnie Grap of Rockford, Ill., spent last weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Grap.  Mrs. Clarence Huettenrauch, the former June Grap, returned Sunday to Milwaukee following a two week visit with her parents.

 

Miss Emma Karnitz of Humbird is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schultz and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Schultz.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Herman J. Schultz and Miss Emma Karnitz were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schultz in Washburn.

 

Mrs. Bert Schultz and daughter, Joan, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Klueckmann, in Eau Claire last weekend.  Saturday evening they attended a mother-daughter banquet at Hope Lutheran Church.

 

Mr. and Mrs. George Nielsen and children visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Nielsen in New London, and Mr. and Mrs. Severt Nielsen, in Waupaca.

Pine Valley (9 April 1959)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Keith Fleming and Otto Rakestraw, Jr., of Christie, left Sunday for Gadsden, Ala, to attend the funeral of Mrs. Fleming’s and Mr. Rakestraw’s father, Otto Rakestraw, Sr.  They planned to return Friday.

 

Silver Crest 4-H club met Saturday at the home of Mrs. Sigwal Haukland.  JoAnn Baker, carrying a 4-H project in riding, spoke on "Characteristics of the Horse".  Kenneth Smith spoke on "Tree Planting."  A lunch was served by the hostess.  The next meeting is scheduled for May 7 at the home of Mrs. Frank Zank, with Pat Opelt and Linda Zank presenting a demonstration in cake baking.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Murel Mott have written friends that they will arrive home next Sunday, Mr. Mott from Milwaukee, and Mrs. Mott from Florida and the east coast.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Yndogliato celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary Saturday evening.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Langreck and children of Grant were supper guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Opelt.

 

Miss Elizabeth Borowsky of Minneapolis visited last weekend with her parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Jacob Borowsky.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mohr and children visited Sunday with Mrs. Neil Chapman at Loyal.

 

Miss Barbara Novak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Novak of Merrillan, visited last weekend with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mohr.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Keith Fleming and children visited Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Marion Robertson, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Alexander and three children of Madison were weekend guests there.

 

Miss Mary Hansen, a student at Luther School of Nursing, Eau Claire, visited last weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Hansen

 

Mr. and Mrs. George Herbel and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Gerhardt visited Friday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Max Vollmert. Mr. Vollmert, who has been confined to his home for many months, is planning to re-enter the Veterans’ Hospital, Minneapolis, on May 13.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Norman Paquette and children visited last weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Zugich.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Victor Rhoades and daughter, Nola, Marshfield, visited last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Marg.
