Swacker, Marilyn J. (Leonhardt) (August 2, 1950 - August 26, 2010)

 

Marilyn J. Swacker, 60, Menominee, Mich., died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at the Aurora Clinic in Marinette.


Services were Aug. 29 at Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home in Menominee, Deacon Vince Beckley presided. A funeral Mass was at St. Joseph’s Church in Stratford on Aug. 31. Burial was in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery.

Marilyn J. Swacker, 60, of Menominee, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010, at the Aurora Clinic in Marinette.

 

She was born on August 2, 1950, to the late Jack and Evelyn (Polege) Leonhardt in Marshfield.


Marilyn graduated from Stratford High School in 1969. On November 28, 1970, she married Roger Swacker at St. Joseph's Church, in Stratford.

 

She had worked at Emerson for 23 years. After they closed, Marilyn when back to school and obtained her degree in cosmetology. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, loved to be around people and could light up a room with her presence.


Marilyn is survived by her husband of 39 years, Roger; a son T.J. (Michelle) Swacker of Marinette; four brothers: Bob (Nettie Nayes) Leonhardt of Stratford, Jim (Kris) Leonhardt of Owen, Jerry (Carolyn) Leonhardt of Spencer and Dick (Marilyn) Leonhardt, of Stratford; a sister, Barb (Jeff) Renninger of Lititz, Pa.; a brother in law, John Becker, and many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Jackie (Theresa) Leonhardt, Margie (Dave) Frane, Rita (Earl) Eisenberg, MaryAnn (Chuck) Drexler, Judy Becker; sister in law, Carol A. Leonhardt, and an infant brother, William Leonhardt.


Friends may call on Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home from 1:30-4:30. Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m., with Deacon Vince Beckley officiating. Additional time of visitation will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Stratford, on Tuesday August 31, from 10 a.m. until time of service. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am.

 
Burial will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery.
