Mierkey, Marcella (Marriage - 11 June 1960)

Miss Marcella Mierkey, Colby, and Herbert Tautges, Birnamwood, exchanged marriage vows at 10 a.m. June 11 at St. Boniface Catholic church, Aniwa, before the Rev. Watry of Wittenburg.

Their parents are Mr. and Mrs. Evan Mierkey of Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Tautges of Eland, Wis.

The bride wore a floor length gown of net over taffeta. The long sleeves were inserted with Chantilly lace and the bodice of Chantilly lace was patterned with a set of pearls and sequins. Her veil was finger-tip length.

She carried a bouquet of red roses, and the bridal gown was decorated with white carnations.

Mrs. Lee Woznicki of Milwaukee, sister of the groom, was maid of honor and she wore a yellow floor length gown of colonial style. She carried white orchids and white carnations.

Bridesmaids were Mrs. George Tautges, Antigo, sister of the bride, and Barbara Tautges, first cousin of the groom. They wore floor length orchid colonial style gowns. Cut glass necklaces and colonial style flat shoes completed the ensembles.

The groom’s attendants were Lee Woznicki, Milwaukee, groom’s brother-in-law; and George Tautges, bride’s brother-in-law, and Edward Tautges, Birnamwood, groom’s first cousin, groomsman.

Music during the ceremony was by the men’s choir of St. Boniface’s Catholic church.
