Butterbrodt, Bertha L. (23 Mar. 1894 - 3 June 1960)

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha L. Butterbrodt, 66, who died Friday morning at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, were conducted from the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby on Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiated, and burial was made at the Loyal cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ronald Heppner, Alvin Heppner, Charles Butterbrodt, Dick Brown, Jacob Susa and Tom Susa.

Janice Butterbrodt, Alice Brown, Patricia Brown and Judy Susa were flower girls.

Mrs. Weldon Brown and Miss Dorothy Kieser sang "Rock of Ages" and "Abide With Me" at the services.

The former Bertha Rau was born Mar. 23, 1894 in Liberty Bluff and was married to Alvin Butterbrodt Sept. 27, 1911, at Princeton. They farmed in Dodge county for six years when they moved to Clark county to operate a farm in the Loyal and Greenwood area. They moved to Abbotsford in 1952.

Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Allen (Irene) Heppner, Harwood Heights, Ill.; Mrs. John (Lorraine) Brown, Fall Creek; Mrs. Robert (Delia) Susa, Greenwood; and Mrs. Thomas (Beverly) Stermell, Delavan; two sons, William, Loyal; and Allison, Chicago; three brothers, Ernest Rau, Fox Lake, William Rau, Rio, and Gust, Beaver Dam, and 10 grand children.
