Apfelbeck, Genevieve (Marriage - 14 May 1960)

Miss Genevieve Apfelbeck and Alvin Abegglen exchanged marriage vows Saturday morning May 14. The Rev. John Pinion officiated at the 10:00 o’clock ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Leo Apfelbeck and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Abegglen, all of Colby.

The bride wore a ballerina length gown fashioned with a lace bodice and net over taffeta skirt trimmed with round appliqués of lace. Sequins and pearls trimmed the long sleeved bodice designed with a Sabrina neckline. Her fingertip veil was caught to a head piece of rhinestones, pearls and sequins. She carried a cascade arrangement of red roses and white carnations.

Attending the bride were two sisters, Miss Pearl Apfelbeck as maid of honor and Mrs. Joseph Rindt of Stetsonville, and a cousin, Miss Virginia Apfelbeck, of Whitewater, as bridesmaid.

They wore sleeveless gowns of white nylon net over aqua taffeta with bows and streamers at the waist line and bow trim on the very full ballerina length skirts. They carried cascade bouquets of pink and white carnations.

Leo Apfelbeck, Jr., brother of the bride, was best man. David Cook of River Falls and Joseph Rindt of Stetsonville were groomsmen.

A 12 o’clock dinner and a 4 o’clock supper were served at St. Mary’s gymnasium and a reception was held at Cherokee hall. In the evening, a wedding dance was held at Memorial hall, Dorchester.
