Pleasant Ridge (11 Sept 1913)

 

School began Monday and eight from here entered high school, namely, Kenneth Randall, Walter, John, and Eva Counsell, Irene Counsell, Dorothy Huckstead, Aneita Kuetchenmeister, and Mary Slocomb, besides the four who went last year.

 

Mrs. H. Counsell spent part of last week at the home of her son, O.E. Counsell.

 

Mrs. Sarah Selves spent most of last week in Neillsville with her children as William and his wife were here from Lac du Flambeau and Thomas and his wife from Thorp.

 

Clayton Vine visited his parents here Saturday.

 

Bert Swann came home from Eau Claire Saturday and reports his wife getting along nicely.  His mother is keeping house for him this week.

 

Arlo and Ed Huckstead and some others delivered lambs to Neillsville Monday.

 

Richard Selves is taking in the state fair this week.

 

Mrs. Geo. Swann came home last week Wednesday from Eau Claire and Mrs. Sack went up to take care of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Swann.  The little girls spent last week at Grandma Swann’s in Neillsville.

 

Mrs. Lulu Jacobson and babe spent Saturday with Mrs. Ed Huckstead.

 

Myra Jahr went to her school duties in Neinas Sunday.

 

Will Geisler and family of Greenwood spent part of last week at Geo. Howard’s and attended the fair.

 

Jim Hughes’ new house is all plastered and Mr. Swann is putting on the finishing touches.
