Reese, Sgt. Donald E. ‘Bud’ (9 May 1921 - 29 December 1942)

 

Brief funeral rites will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Hansen Funeral Home for Sgt. Donald E. Reese, 21, who died Dec. 29, 1942, at Buna-Gona in New Guinea. The remains are arriving Friday night at 10:30 o’clock and will be taken to the funeral home until the time of the services the following day.

 

The Rev. Arthur R. Oates of the Frist Presbyterian Church will conduct the services and the American Legion will have charge of the military rites at Hillside, where interment will take place in the family lot.

 

Donald E. (Bud) Reese was born in Duluth, Minn., May 9, 1921, and came to Marshfield in 1929.  He attended grade school in Marshfield and was graduated from Marshfield High School in 1939.

 

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Cleo Reese, a sister, Dorothy, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Reese, all of Marshfield.
