O’Brien, Archie Paul, Jr. (15 February 1945 - 16 August 2010)

 

Archie P. O’Brien, Jr., 65, of Neillsville and formerly of Black River Falls died Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

 

Archie Paul O’Brien, Jr. was born Feb. 15, 1945, in Black River Falls to Archie Paul O’Brien, Sr. and Luella (Kenyon) O’Brien.  He was raised in the Millston/Black River Falls area and attended local schools. 

 

He was married to Bernice Stoddard and they were later divorced.  In addition to having lived most of his life in Black River Falls and Merrillan, he had lived in Neillsville the past year.  Archie had been employed on a farm.

 

He enjoyed spending time with family members and friends, playing cards (especially euchre) and fishing.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Tracy (Dave) Dobson of Black River Falls; three grandchildren, Anthonie Huntington, Zacharie Dobson and Rylie Dobson; two sisters, Christine (Fred) Hermanson and Rosemary (Jim Murphy) Hermanson, both of Black River Falls; six brothers, Samuel (Vernetta) O’Brien and Peter O’Brien, both of Merrillan, Clark (Kathryn) O’Brien and Mark O’Brien, both of Black River Falls, and Keith (Jeanette) O’Brien and Michael (Darlene) O’Brien, both of Tomah; five stepchildren; his ex-wife, Bernice O’Brien of Merrillan; his ex-significant other, Kathy Huntington Schumacher of Black River Falls; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Sr. and Luella O’Brien; brothers: Robert O’Brien, Richard O’Brien, Donald O’Brien and John O’Brien; sisters: Patricia Calkins, Elaine Pierce and Dawn Iverson; niece, Jennifer Hermanson; and a brother-in-law, Gary Iverson.

 

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at the Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls.  Pastor Calvin Thoreson will officiate, and burial will be in the Warren Mills Cemetery at Warrens.

 

Family and friends are invited for visitation Thursday from 12 noon until 2 p.m.
