Erikson, David #2 (17 JUNE 1947 - 24 JULY 2010)

 

David L. Erikson, 63, Spencer, entered eternal life on Saturday, July 24, 2010, in the Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, with his family at his side. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, July 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. Carla Schwartes served as organist, with David’s grandchildren, Tyler and Kelsie Holtzheimer performing a special musical selection. Burial was in the North Spencer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Erikson, Darrell Erikson, Brian Erikson, Scott Erdman, Woody Schmutzler and Don Schoelzel.

 

David L.Erikson was born on June 17, 1947, in Marshfield, to Bror and Ella (nee Schmidt) Erikson. He was a graduate of Colby High School and continued his education at Mid-State Technical Institute.

 

He married Mary Jane Frane on April,1967, in Hartford. He was employed as a millwright at Marshfield Door until June 2009, when because of health issues, he was no longer able to work. His faith and family were central in his life. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, He especially cherished the time he could spend with his grandchildren. He was an avid packer fan and golf was his passion.

 

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Erikson, Spencer; two daughters, Waunda (David) Holtzheimer, Manitowoc, and Brenda (Greg) Potts, Freedom; three grandchildren, Tyler (Dana) Holtzheimer, Kelsie Holtzheimer and Rachel Potts; three brothers, Duane (Anita) Erikson, Jerry (Nancy) Erikson, Richmond, Ill., and Ken (Gerri) ERikson, Withee; and two sisters, Shirley (Galen) Erdman, Curtiss, and Mary Ann (Jim) Foerster, Elgin, Ill.

 

Preceding him in death were one sister, Jan Kalson; and two brothers, Donnie and Allen.

 

His family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the many acts of kindness they have received during his illness. You will never know how much of a blessing you have been to our family.
