Roth, Bernadine-Roth Margaret (05 JUNE 1948)

Two sisters and two brothers were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony solemnized during a nuptial high mass celebrated by the Rev. Aloys Zinthefer at St. Anthony’s Catholic church here on Saturday, June 5.

Miss Bernadine Roth became the bride of Cornelius Foster, and her sister, Miss Margaret Roth, was united in marriage to Kenneth Foster. Mr. and Mrs. George Roth of Loyal are parents of the two brides. Mother of the bridegrooms is Mrs, Theresa Foster of Marshfield.

The brides were given in marriage by their father. They chose identical gowns of white satin and lace, fashioned with lace bodices, buttoned down the back to wasp waistlines, accentuated by lace peplums. The square nylon yokes were edged with a shirred ruffle of lace, caught at various points with seed pearls, the long sleeves came to points at the wrists, and the skirts extended into long trains. Their fingertip veils were held by tiaras of seed pearls and orange blossoms. They wore two-strand pearl necklaces and pearl earrings, gifts of the grooms and carried white prayerbooks and bouquet of lilies, white carnations and red roses.

The maids of honor, Miss Rita Roth, sister of the brides, and Miss Jean Marie Foster, sister of the grooms, wore identical gowns of light blue ninon, styled with full skirts and fitted bodices. Matching ruffled hats completed their attire, and they carried bouquets of pink and white carnations.

Attending the men were their brother, Jack Foster, and a brother of the brides, Raphael Roth. The grooma and their best men were attired in white coats and black trousers. Virgil Roth and Donald Foster were ushers.

Dinner and supper were served in the church auditorium to about 100 guests. A reception in the afternoon was held at the George Roth home, and a dance was held that evening at Walter’s Pavilion, near Colby.

Cornelius Foster is a graduate of the Colby high school and a veteran of three years service in the Seebees. His bride was graduated from the Loyal high school in 1937. Both are employed in Milwaukee and will make their home at 3733, West Vliet street, in that city.

Kenneth Foster was graduated from the Marshfield high school and served in the navy for three years. His bride, like her sister a graduate of the Loyal high school (in 1944), is employed in Milwaukee. They will make their home at 829 North 19thstreet, there, while Mr. Foster continues his studies at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

The Cornelius Fosters left for a week’s wedding trip to northern Minnesota and Canada. The Kenneth Fosters are honeymooning in northern Wisconsin.

Out of town guests at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Donald Roth and sons, Jimmy and Terry, Raphael and Virgil Roth, Mrs. L. C. Bremer, Mrs. Helmuth Kuester and family, Misses Delly and Caroline Martens, Ambrose Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Foster and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Finco and son, Gary, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. George Roth Jr. and daughters, Eileen and John, and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Martens and son John, of Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Roth and family of Ashton, Ia.; Mrs. Theresa Foster, Jack and Joyce Foster of Marshfield.
