Johnson, Sharon (2 MAR 1957)

The Rev. William P. Holzhauser was officiating clergyman Saturday, March 2nd, 1957, when Miss Sharon I. Johnson and Myron R. Brecke exchanged wedding vows during a 1:30 p.m. ceremony in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stetsonville.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Johnson, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), and the bridegroom is the son of William Brecke, Stetsonville.

Music for the nuptials included "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord’s Prayer," sung by Donald Vircks of Stetsonville.  Mrs. Holzhausen was his accompanist.

Performing the duties of best man was Bruce Dietz, Stetsonville, another cousin of the bridegroom, and Roger Kramer of Abbotsford was groomsman.

Ushers were Glenn Schaus, Kaukauna, and Emil Pauer, Medford, brothers-in-law respectively to the bride and groom.

When she appeared in the bridal procession, the bride was seen in a floor length gown of Chantilly lace and tulle.  Sequins trimmed a band of lace edging the Sabrina neckline, and lace appliqués trimmed the skirt.  Her long sleeves of lace ended in points over the hands.  The fingertip bridal veil descended from a hat edged with a row of seed pearls.

In her cascade bouquet she carried red roses, white carnations and stephanotis.

Colonial bouquets of yellow roses, mums and stephanotis were carried by the bridal aides to compliment their orchid dresses.  Lace descended down the skirts in ruffled tiers, and bodice, which were covered with smaller ruffles of lace fashioned the matching lace jackets.

For the day’s events, including the wedding reception and supper in the Curtiss Village Hall, the bride’s mother wore a black ensemble with white accessories.  Red roses and white carnations were in her corsage.

Coming from out of town for the wedding were residents of North Chicago and Worth, Ill., Kaukauna, Milwaukee, Colby, Medford, Stetsonville, Abbotsford, Dorchester, Greenwood, Marshfield and Scandanavia.
