Albert E. Morrison, age 88, of Neillsville, formerly of the Town of Butler, rural Thorp, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Neillsville Care & Rehab, in Neillsville. 
 

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Thorp Funeral Home, with Rev. John Sindler officiating.  Burial followed in the Town of Butler Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Fred Faul, Jay Wilke, Julius A. Klapatauskas, Bobbie Ockerel, Leland Mayenschein, and Emil Reineke.  Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. 
 

Albert Eden Morrison was born on February 2, 1922, in the Town of Butler, rural Thorp, WI, to Bert and Lottie (Cole) Morrison.  He was raised on the family farm and received his education in area schools.  Albert was drafted into the U. S. Army in October of 1942 and served during WWII until he was honorably discharged in December of 1945.  After his return from the U. S. Army, he farmed for a while in the Town of Butler.  He then moved to Galesville, WI, and was employed at the Trane Company in La Crosse, WI for 17 years.  He then returned to the family farm in the Town of Butler, where he resided until his retirement.  Albert also worked for the Town of Foster operating the recycling center and mowing and trimming the ditches.  He always kept himself busy mowing lawns and plowing snow for others. 
 

He was a member of the Thorp American Legion Post #118 and had many interests, but especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching boxing and visiting with relatives and friends.  
 

He is survived by his special life partner, Lillian Cade, of Neillsville; four nieces: Dixie (Fred) Faul of Granton, Bonnie (Harold) Johnson of Sheldon, Roxie Morrison of Willard, and Rochelle Watkins of Eau Claire.   
 

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives: Bettie and Irene Morrison; one brother, Edmond Morrison; and two nephews Tim and Tom Morrison.
