Haupt, Leone (02 ARP 1882 - 10 OCT 1947)

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon for Mrs. Fred Haupt, 65, a resident of the village of Granton, who died at her home early last  Friday morning, the result of cancer of the liver.

Services were conducted at the Gilbertson funeral home in Granton at 2 o’clock and the Loyal Theatre at 3, and burial was in the Loyal cemetery. Brother Wylam of Chicago, international Bible student, had charge of the service.

Pallbearers were Henry Lemke, Ed Haslow, Art Cammers, Otto Schmidtke, Fred Elmhurst and Julius Rennak. The songs requested, "Abide With Me," "Face To Face" and "Rest Till Morning Dawns,’ were sung by a quartet, with Miss Holmes as accompanist.

Leone Hazeitine, daughter of the late George and Hattie Reed Hazeltine, was born in the town of Loyal on Apr. 2, 1882, having attained the age of 65 years, six months and eight days. Her early life was spent in this locality. She was married on Dec. 3, 1903, to Mr. Haupt. After their marriage, they lived in the town of Loyal for 42 ½ years, selling their farm a year ago and moving to Granton.

Her life had won the repeated respect of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Surviving besides her husband is a son, Russell; a granddaughter, Margo residing in the state of Washington; a brother, A. J. Hazeltine of Loyal, and a sister, Mrs. Edyth Catlin of Neillsville.

To the survivors, The Tribune extends its sympathy.
