Beyer, Blanche M. (27 June 1919 - 7 April
2010)
Blanche M. Beyer, 90, of Neillsville died
Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at the Memorial Medical Center in
Neillsville.
Blanche was born June 27, 1919, in
Christie, the daughter of Andrew W. and Grace (Morse) West.
She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1936. Blanche
was united in marriage to William Jake Jr. in 1939. During
World War II they moved to Baraboo and worked at the gun-powder
plant. When the war was over, they moved back to Neillsville
and Blanche enjoyed being a housewife and raising her family.
William died in 1970. In 1971 she was united in marriage to
Walter Beyer. Blanche loved to watch sports, especially the
Bucks and Brewers. She also loved to read, do crossword
puzzles and embroidery. She was a member of St. John’s
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Blanche will be
sadly missed by her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Walter of
Neillsville; a daughter, Jackie (James) Schecklman of Neillsville;
a daughter-in-law, Penny Jake of Neillsville; four stepchildren,
Gorgon Beyer of Neillsville, Nancy (John) Hagedorn of Neillsville,
Karen (Al) Zschernitz of Marshfield and Gary Beyer of Neillsville;
and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.
Blanche was preceded in death by her
parents; her first husband, William; a son, Steven Jake; and four
sisters: Vivian Bartelt, Nina Drew, Irene Santas and Mildred
MacArthur.
A funeral service for Blanche was held at
2 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010, at St. John’s Evangelical
Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor John Warmuth
officiated. Visitation was held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior
to the service. Interment was made in the Neillsville City
Cemetery.
The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville
assisted Blanche’s family with arrangements.
