Casper, Edward J. Jr. (February 8, 1955 - April 14, 2010) 
 

Edward J. Casper Jr., age 55, of Withee, entered eternal life Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, with his wife by his side.  
 

A memorial service was held Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. The Rev. John Klein officiated. Private family interment is scheduled. Military honors will be conducted by the VanHuizen-Fritz American Legion Post No. 123 following the service.

 
Mr. Casper was born February 8, 1955 in Milwaukee, Wis. He was the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Muecke) Casper. He attended Milwaukee area schools.

 
Mr. Casper served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged on July 25, 1976. Edward was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Mast and the Rifle Marksman Medal.

 
He was employed at Briggs and Stratton Motors while in Milwaukee. In the Owen area he did agricultural work in addition to operating a non-profit business, Agape Ministries, which refurbished computers and provided them to needy families.

 
Ed was an avid outdoorsman and felt closest to God when he was in the woods. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

 
Edward is lovingly survived by his wife, Victoria Casper, Withee; son, Edward (Lisa Mann) Casper, Milwaukee; stepchildren, Tia (Jeremy) Baxter, Owen, Bobbie Lee Patrick, Denver, Colo., and Ashley (Jason) Lind, Farmington, Minn.; grandchildren, Brooke, Gabrielle, Colin, Katie, Cassidy and John. He is further survived by his mother, Elizabeth (Clifford) Bertling, Milwaukee; sisters, Christine (Bruce) Jung, Shawano, Maryann (Jeff Conrad) Hintze, Milwaukee; and one stepsister, Dana Bertling, Milwaukee.
