Christmas dawns this year with but one sorrow to mar the happiness of the day, and that the death of R.W. Balch, which occurred Monday afternoon.  Mr. Balch was taken with a serve cold last Saturday, which developed into pneumonia.  His death was altogether unexpected, for last week he had attended to his duties as assistant clerk of the court and was seemingly in good health.  For many years Mr. Balch had been a sufferer from asthma, but patiently and cheerfully bore the pain and care of this disease.  There is a general feeling of regret among all the friends of the deceased because of his death, for he was universally liked and admired.  A more complete obituary of Mr. Balch will be published next week.  The funeral will be held from the house Thursday at 2 o’clock.
