Fricke, Elsie (!5 AUG 1910-26 FEB 2010)

 

Elsie A. Fricke, 99, Marshfield, formerly of Spencer, died on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2010, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, March 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Rev. Karl Rose officiated. Interment was held at Town of Lynn Cemetery.

 

Elsie A. Strey was born in the town of York, on Aug. 15, 1910, to Robert and Anna (nee Thomas) Strey Sr. On Jan. 18, 1931, she married Elmer Gotter. Tragically, he passed away in 1942. She later married George Fricke on June 9, 1956, after which they moved to Milwaukee, where she worked for Globe Union until she retired and returned to Spencer. In her free time, she enjoyed volunteering at the Ponderosa in Spencer, bowling in League, crafting for her grandchildren, cooking, playing cards, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

 

She is lovingly survived by her four children, Elmer (the late Velma) Gotter, Loyal, Donna (Special friend Don Dobbs) Pollack, Milwaukee, Darlene (Vernon) Kasper, Merrill, and Robert (LeeAnn) Gotter, Racine; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild. She is further survived by four brothers; four sisters; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Preceding her in death were two brothers.
