Shefchik, Irene (07 JUNE 1947)

Irene Carol Ann Shefchik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Shefchik of Loyal, became the bride of Roman A. Braun, son of Mrs. A. J. Braun, also of Loyal, in a double-ring ceremony at St. Anthony’s Catholic church here on June 7. The Rev. Fr. Aloys Zinthefer officiated.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a satin-bodiced white gown, with a nylon marquisette yoke, edged with imported lace, and a bouffant skirt of marquisette. Her fingertip veil was caught to a tiara of seed pearls.

Miss Evelyn Shefchik, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and was gowned in pink jersey with net overskirt. She carried pink carnations and white lilies. The bridesmaid, Mrs. Alfred Mueller of Chicago, sister of the groom, wore a similar gown of blue and carried  identical flowers.

The groom was attended by Francis Shefchik, brother of the bride, as best man, while Alfred Mueller, the groom’s brother-in-law, was groomsman. Lawrence Cowles and L. A. Davel acted as ushers.

Dinner and supper were served by friends of the bride and groom to 75 guests in the church auditorium, and a dance honoring the couple was held that evening at the Merry Ol’ Gardens, near Longwood.

Following their honeymoon to Detroit, Mich., Niagara Falls and Canada., Mr. and Mrs. Braun will be at home to their friends here. Mr. Braun operates the Braun Auto Co., where the bride has been employed the past four years.

Guests from out of town included Mrs. Ernest Vollrath and daughter, Elvira, of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Mueller and daughter, Mary, and Miss Gertrude Braun of Chicago; Mrs. J. J. Sala of Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shefchik, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Shefchik, Miss Bernice Garvens, and Mrs. Anna Kvetik, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Slaby and son, Allen, of Two Rivers; Mrs. Ida Meyer and Albert Slaby and daughter, Irene, of Manitowoc; Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Stangel and daughter, Elizabeth, and son, Luke, of Mishicot; and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Eder and Mr. and Mrs. William Bauer and sons, Frank and Billy, of Colby.

To the newlyweds, The Loyal Tribune extends its hardiest congratulations and the best wishes for the future.
