Thiede, Ewald (24 January 1897 - 24 August 1958) 
 

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday from the Zion American Lutheran Church, in Granton for Ewald Thiede, 61, who died August 24 at his home in Arcadia.  The Rev. Marvin A. Beninga pastor and the Rev. Walter Schulthgia, pastor of St. John’s Christ American Lutheran Church in Arcadia, officiated.  Burial was made in the parish cemetery at Granton. 
 

Mr. Thiede, a native of Granton, was born January 24, 1897.  His parents were the late Herman and Caroline (Schwirten) Thiede.  He received his education in Granton and worked the home farm. 
 

Following his marriage on October 12, 1917, to the former Josephine Thayer at Granton, they continued to farm until their son, Leonard, took over the home place.  The past six years they had resided in Arcadia, where he was engaged in selling dairy feeds.  The last year he had worked in a hardware store. 
 

He is survived by his wife and four children: Eugene of Granton; Leonard of Granton; Mrs. Clarence (Alice) Wagner of Neillsville, and William of La Crosse.  A sister, Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Lowe of Whitehall, and 11 grandchildren also survive. 
 

The Georgas Funeral Home made the funeral arrangements.

Funeral services for Ewald Thiede, 61, were conducted August 27 from the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton.  The Rev. Marvin Beninga and the Rev. Walter Schulthgia of Arcadia officiated.  Burial was made in the parish cemetery. 
 

Pallbearers were: Richard Hillert, Oscar Krause, Carl Garbisch, Ed Lautenbach and Theodore Beilke.  Mrs. Roger Tamke and Edward Erickson, accompanied by Ronald Gluch, sang, "The Old Rugged Cross." 
 

People from out of town attending were: Mrs. Harry Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Meinerz, Mrs. Roger Tamke, Mrs. Oscar Schmidt, Ruby Tamke, Roger Tamke, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Throndson, Mrs. Reinhold Tamke, Mrs. Harry Trombridge, Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Auer, Mr. and Mrs. George Barry and Mr. and Mrs. Morris English, Arcadia; Mr. and Mrs. Art Lautenbach, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hannah and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bender, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Swieso, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Boettcher, and Mr. an Ms. Ray Tyler, Granton. 
 

Funeral arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home.
