Duchow, Connie (Marriage - 2 August
Miss Connie Duchow and Harvey Patterson,
both of Milwaukee, were married Saturday afternoon in a 2:00
o’clock ceremony in First Methodist Church of Neillsville.
The double ring service was read by the Rev. Mander McPherson,
pastor of the Assembly of God Church. Baskets of lavender and
white gladioli decorated the altar. The bride is a daughter of Mrs.
Grace Giloy of Neillsville, and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Patterson of Humbird.
The bride, who was given in marriage by
her uncle, Clarence Olson of Milwaukee, was attired in an
embroidered gown of white Swiss organdy, fashioned with a Sabrina
neckline and fitted bodice. Her floor length skirt was of
ruffled tiers over taffeta. She wore a fingertip veil of
imported pure silk illusion, attached to a queen’s crown of
miniature orange blossoms. An heirloom pearl necklace, which
had been worn by the groom’s mother for her wedding day and
by her daughters and daughters-in-law on their wedding days, was a
part of the bride’s ensemble. Her flowers were a
lavender orchid arranged with stephanotis.
Attending as matron of honor was her
sister, Mrs. Harold Flick of Neillsville. Bridesmaids were
Miss June Pagenkopf of Neillsville and Miss Sonja Schlimme of Fond
du Lac. Each wore Parisian style ballerina gowns of white
nylon sheer, trimmed with lavender velvet flowerettes and fashioned
with puff sleeves and ruffled skirts. Each wore a lavender tiara
and carried a bouquet of orchid pompons.
Gail Giloy, sister of the bride, and Rena
Patterson, sister of the groom, were junior bridesmaids.
Raymond Zaruba of Maribel, friend of the
groom, was bestman. Groomsmen were Ben Patterson of
Merrillan, Brother of the groom, and Harold Flick, brother-in-law
of the bride. Ushers were Frank Patterson, brother, and Wally
Pennow, brother-in-law. The men wore white dinner
Organ music was furnished by Miss Darlene
Anger of Merrillan; "The Lord’s Prayer" and "Because" were
sung by Richard Rousey of Alma Center.
A reception for 85 guests followed in the
church parlors, where the decorations were pink and white streamers
and white wedding bells.
The bride is a graduate of Neillsville
High School and is a stenographer for the internal revenue service
in Milwaukee. The groom is a graduate of Lincoln High School
in Alma Center, and is a truck driver in Milwaukee.
After a wedding trip to Wisconsin Dells
the couple will reside at 3702 S 46th Street,

Mrs. Riley Laufenberg, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Sheffer, Mr. and Mrs. Ben
Patterson, and Miss Helen Hauge, of Alma Center; Miss Grace Loppnow
of Oconomowoc; Mrs. Katherine Schlimme and daughters of Fond du
Lac; Mrs. Francis Jacobson, and Beverly of Pittsville; Mr. and Mrs.
Martin Fisher and Jon, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mueller and Steven, Mrs.
Ella Mueller and Miss Carol Elsinger of Spencer; and Mrs. Dorothy
Dresden and Penny, Miss Mary McCabe, Matt Tieste, Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Pennow, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Olson, and Mrs. Herbert Held
and daughter of Milwaukee.
