Duchow, Connie (Marriage - 2 August 1958)

Miss Connie Duchow and Harvey Patterson, both of Milwaukee, were married Saturday afternoon in a 2:00 o’clock ceremony in First Methodist Church of Neillsville. The double ring service was read by the Rev. Mander McPherson, pastor of the Assembly of God Church.  Baskets of lavender and white gladioli decorated the altar. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Grace Giloy of Neillsville, and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Patterson of Humbird.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, Clarence Olson of Milwaukee, was attired in an embroidered gown of white Swiss organdy, fashioned with a Sabrina neckline and fitted bodice.  Her floor length skirt was of ruffled tiers over taffeta.  She wore a fingertip veil of imported pure silk illusion, attached to a queen’s crown of miniature orange blossoms.  An heirloom pearl necklace, which had been worn by the groom’s mother for her wedding day and by her daughters and daughters-in-law on their wedding days, was a part of the bride’s ensemble.  Her flowers were a lavender orchid arranged with stephanotis.

Attending as matron of honor was her sister, Mrs. Harold Flick of Neillsville.  Bridesmaids were Miss June Pagenkopf of Neillsville and Miss Sonja Schlimme of Fond du Lac.  Each wore Parisian style ballerina gowns of white nylon sheer, trimmed with lavender velvet flowerettes and fashioned with puff sleeves and ruffled skirts. Each wore a lavender tiara and carried a bouquet of orchid pompons.

Gail Giloy, sister of the bride, and Rena Patterson, sister of the groom, were junior bridesmaids.

Raymond Zaruba of Maribel, friend of the groom, was bestman.  Groomsmen were Ben Patterson of Merrillan, Brother of the groom, and Harold Flick, brother-in-law of the bride. Ushers were Frank Patterson, brother, and Wally Pennow, brother-in-law.  The men wore white dinner jackets.

Organ music was furnished by Miss Darlene Anger of Merrillan; "The Lord’s Prayer" and "Because" were sung by Richard Rousey of Alma Center.

A reception for 85 guests followed in the church parlors, where the decorations were pink and white streamers and white wedding bells.

The bride is a graduate of Neillsville High School and is a stenographer for the internal revenue service in Milwaukee.  The groom is a graduate of Lincoln High School in Alma Center, and is a truck driver in Milwaukee.

After a wedding trip to Wisconsin Dells the couple will reside at 3702 S 46th Street, Milwaukee.
