Sorensen, Shirley (25 JUN 1955)

In a ceremony performed at 2:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon in the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee, Miss Shirley Ann Sorensen became the bride of Lloyd O. Nygren, Milwaukee.  Parents of the principals are Mr. and Mrs. Sig Sorensen of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer T. Nygren.

When the bride and groom stood before the Rev. W. Clayton Nielsen, who performed the ceremony, the former was garbed in a white embroidered organdy waltz length gown.  Completing her ensemble were a fingertip of illusion and a bouquet of roses tied with satin ribbons.

Miss Dianne Dahlke, Milwaukee, in an ankle length yellow crystalette frock, filled the role of maid of honor.  Similarly attired in a lavender dress was Miss Donna Nygren, Milwaukee, bridesmaid.  Both carried fan shaped bouquets of gladioli.

Lavern Nygren, Milwaukee, was best man for his brother, and Sid Sorensen, Withee, a brother of the bride, was groomsman.  Completing the wedding party were the ushers, Merrill Nygren, Milwaukee, and James Bakke, Withee; the flower girl, Judy Bakke, who was gowned in green, and Richard Andersen, Mauston, the ring bearer.

After the ceremony a reception and supper were held in the church hall.

The new Mrs. Nygren is a graduate of the Withee High School with the 1950 class, and her husband is an engineering student at the University of Wisconsin Extension Center in Milwaukee.
