Loppnow, William (22 February 1876 - 27 June 1958) 
 

Funeral services for William Loppnow, 82, were held from Trinity Lutheran Church Monday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. John Pfohl officiating.  Burial was made in the Lutheran Cemetery.  He died in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, Friday, June 27, from old age complications. 
 

William Loppnow was born in Hartford, February 22, 1876.  He was married to Mary Ruehlow there February 28, 1899. 
 

In 1905, they moved to Clark County and lived on a farm in the Town of Beaver for five years.  They then moved onto a farm in the Town of Eaton, where they lived until 1915, when they moved to Loyal.  Here he ran a feed store for a number of years.  He also owned the Loyal dray line and hauled freight and mail.  For a while he owned and operated the Standard Oil Company agency. 
 

For 27 years he served as Loyal’s assessor.  He retired from active duties three years ago.   
 

He is survived by his wife and a son, Karl, of Loyal; a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Martha) Voss, Horicon; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 
 

Pallbearers were: Celen and Ferdinand Gotter, Ben Kadolph, Jake Henseler, Sr., Bert Brown, and John Olson.  Singers were Mrs. Erwin Dux and Mrs. Verland Dux with Miss Carol Noeldner as organist. 
 

Coming from away to attend the funeral were relatives and friends from; Horicon, Watertown, Hartford, Beaver Dam, Hustisford, Ft. Atkinson, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, Aurora, Ill., and Kalamazoo, Mich.
