Kurth, Louis W. "Frosty" (? - 17 June 1957)  
 

Funeral services for Postmaster, Louis W. "Frosty" Kurth, 62, of Neillsville, who died June 17, were held Thursday afternoon from the Congregational Church. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiated.  Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery, with the Haugen-Richmond Post No. 73 in charge of military rites.  
 

Hymns "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Evening Prayer" were sung by Dr. Sarah Rosekrans accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott at the organ. 
 

Twelve pallbearers served, six at the church and six at the cemetery.  They were: Ed Allen, S. T. Bracken, Donald Dundas, Henry Hauser, Milo Mabie, George Prochazka, Dale Seif, R. H. Sollie, Albert Smith, Carl Thoma, Henry Thomsen and William H. Yenni. 
 

Mrs. A. C. Covell and Mrs. Joe Ylvisaker were in charge of the flowers. 
 

The following postmasters and postmistresses were honorary pallbearers: Dr. R. L. Barnes, Greenwood; W. L. Hanley, Stanley; Don Bersell, Chili; Archie Kirby, Humbird; Harold Wendt, Owen; Mrs. Ruby Behr, Fairchild; Erhart Witte, Granton; Wm. S. Wagner, Thorp; John Lesar, Willard; R. C. Graham, Owen; Mrs. Arthur Henning, Altoona; and Miss Dorothy Neilsen, Withee. 
 

Members of the American Legion who took part in the services were: Joe Cardarella, Commander; Harold Pischer and E. J. Vine, Color Guard; H. J. Naedler and Joe Hartung, Color bearers; Ernest Karnitz, Ernest Ott and Leon Stanley, firing squad. Gavin Upton played taps.
