Hennlich, Evelyn  (04 APR 1947) (?)

The Saturday before Easter Sunday was chosen as the wedding date by Evelyn Hennlich of Milwaukee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Hennlich of Curtiss, and Orlyn Wanke of  Milwaukee, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wanke of route one, Loyal. The nuptial service was conducted by the Rev. S. C. Mathews in the Congregational church at Curtiss at 2:30 p.m.

The church was decorated with Easter lilies and cut flowers. Joyce Merwin, soloist, sang the "Lord’s Prayer" and "Because," accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Leland Smiley, who also played the wedding march.

The bride wore a white gabardine suit with aqua-colored blouse, hat and gloves. Her flowers were a corsage of pink carnations and roses. The maid of honor, Emily Hennlich, a sister of the bride, wore a pink suit which she designed and made. The jacket was a fishtail style with a cut-away peplum. She wore black accessories and a corsage of pink carnations. The bridesmaid was Jean Wanke, a sister of the groom, who wore a green suit, with black accessories and a corsage of carnations.

The groom was attired in a brown suit, and his attendants were Robert Hennlich, cousin of the bride, as best man, and George Edwards, brother-in-law of the bride, as groomsman. The best man wore a light gray suit, while the groomsman was attired in a blue suit. Ushers were John Sheets and Donald Fierke.

Dinner was served at 6 p.m. to 60 guests at the home of the bride’s parents, and 100 guests were present for the evening reception. The dining room was decorated with white, pink and green streamers. The table was decorated with candles, and a wedding cake graced the center of the table.

Among the guests present were the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wanke of Loyal.

The groom, who is a welder with the Milwaukee Railroad, was graduated from the Owen high school with the class of 1942. He served for three years with the U.S. Army, two years of which were spent overseas. His bride graduated from Owen high in 1940 and attended the Hollywood Beauty school in Appleton in 1941. She has been forelady with the Milwaukee Corp., in Milwaukee.

The newlyweds will be at home to their friends in Milwaukee after April 9.

The Loyal Tribune extends to the young couple its wishes for happiness.
