Nulton, Eunice (Marriage - 27 July 1956)

Grace Methodist Church in Greenwood was the scene Friday afternoon, July 27, of the wedding of Miss Eunice Nulton, daughter of the Rev. Ethel Nulton, pastor of the church, and S/Sgt. Donald J. Lawrence of La Farge, who is stationed at Truax Field, near Madison.  The bride’s brother, the Rev. Virgil W. Nulton of Rice Lake, performed the double ring ceremony.  The church altar was decorated with garden flowers and candelabra.

The bride’s dress was ballerina length, fashioned with a skirt having alternate tears of lace and tulle over taffeta, and a long-sleeved, fitted bodice of lace over taffeta. She wore a lace edged fingertip veil, which fell from a cap trimmed with orange blossoms.  Her flowers we re a fan shaped hand corsage of garnet roses and white carnations fashioned with white lace.

Her matron of honor was a close friend and cousin of the groom, Mrs. Charlene Marshall of La Farge. The best man was A/1c Roger G. Glick, a former school mate and now a pal at Truax Field.  Henry Hoftiezer of Wausau, brother-in-law of the bride, served as usher.

Organ music was played by Mrs. Virgil W. Nulton of Rice Lake.  Mrs. Don Ellingson of Greenwood sang: "Through the Years," "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord’s Prayer."  Mrs. Nulton played the accompaniment.

The bride is a graduate of the La Farge High school and of Stout State College at Menomonie, where she received a B. S. Degree in home economics in 1955.  She taught in the Melrose High School last year.

The groom is a La Farge High School graduate.  On graduation he joined the air force, in which he has served five years.  Since the death of his parents he has made his home with an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Carson Lawrence of La Farge.  They were present for the wedding.

S/Sgt. and Mrs. Lawrence are living in Madison. She plans to teach next year in Viroqua and he will continue his service at Truax Field.

Following the marriage ceremony, a reception was held for about 100 guests in the parlors of Grace church.  Lunch was served by the W. S. C. S. of the church.  Tables were decorated with a variety of beautiful roses grown in Greenwood.  Mrs Henry Hoftiezer, sister of the bride, assisted with the lunch.

Relatives and friends were present from Chicago, Ill., Kalamazoo, Mich., Chisago City, Minn., La Farge, Rice Lake, Wausau, Hancock, Ontario, Christie, Melrose, Hammond, Baldwin, Hillsboro, Neillsville, and Varina , Ia.
