Crowley, Rose M. (25 AUG 1955)

Miss Rose Marie Crowley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Crowley, Owen, Clark Co., Wis., and William Mick Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Micke, R.R. 3, Stanley, were married at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Owen, Wis., on Thursday, Aug. 25, 1955, at 9:30 a.m.

The Rev. Father Grubel read the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with colored gladiolas.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, wore a gown of Chantilly lace and net over satin.  Fashioned floor length with fitted bodice, illusion neckline and pearl trim, long tapering sleeves.  Full lace skirt over net hat held the imported silk bridal veil.  She carried a bouquet of red sweetheart roses.

Miss Joan Micke, sister of the groom, was maid of honor.  She wore a turquoise gown of lace and net over taffeta, fashioned with fitted strapless bodice and a lace bolero.  A bouffant net skirt extended from the elongated waistline was over net and taffeta.  She carried a colonial bouquet of rust and yellow mums.

Mrs. Richard Hansen of Eau Claire, and Miss Gaymond Stasek, Owen, served as bridesmaids.  They had gowns and flowers identical to that of the maid of honor.

Robert Benzschawel Jr. of Thorp, the groom’s cousin, was best man.  Groomsmen were John Crowley, brother of the bride, and Milton Laabs, both of Owen.  Armon Micke, brother of the groom, and Alvin Benzschawel, cousin of the groom, served as ushers.

The bride’s mtoehr wore a dress of aqua lace over taffeta with white accessories and the groom’s mother wore a toast brown dress with brown accessories.  They both had corsages of yellow roses.

A dinner was served in the church parlor for about 60 guests and a reception was held from 2 to 6 for about 170 guests.

When the couple left on their wedding trip through northern Wisconsin, the bride was wearing a white linen dress with red accessories.

Out of town guests were from Milwaukee, Eau Claire, North Chicago, Thorp, Withee, Stanley, Tomah, Chippewa Falls, Stevens Point and Boyd.
